Energy China signs contract for 260 MW hydropower station in Nepal

The consortium formed by Energy China International Group and Gezhouba International Corporation and Apollo Private Energy Company, a project company of Nepal Golyan Group, signed the EPC framework contract for Nepal’s Nanlan Kola 260MW hydropower station project in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, Realized the rolling development of Nepal’s hydropower market.

The project is located in the Mugu area of ​​northwestern Nepal, with a total installed capacity of 260 MW and an average annual power generation of 1.14 billion kWh.

The main project contents include the overall design, procurement, construction and commissioning of the power station.

Most of the power projects in Nepal are run-of-river hydropower plants, and the seasonal power shortage problem is obvious. The Nanlan-Kola Hydropower Station project has a certain capacity for peak regulation and water storage. After completion, it will effectively solve the problem of power shortage in the dry season in northwestern Nepal.
